A sudden gust of wind, followed by torrential rain, toppled large rubber and durian trees. Five houses were destroyed, but the people occupying them escaped unhurt. Selangor Social Welfare officers today visited the storm victims and gave each family two blankets, clothing and $30. Halijah binte Kalifah Muda, 40, who was still suffering from shock, told the Straits times: 'My three children and I were talking in the hall when the storm broke. 'Then I heard the sound of a falling tree. I ran. I shouted to my children to run out of the house. 'We were just in time for a big durian tree fell where we had been sitting.'
